Why did you choose Japan for your studies?

Firstly, Japan has high-level education system. Most academic researchers from Japanese universities are well qualified. Japanese supervisors emphasize quality more than quantity and they work systematically as well as punctually. I want to learn this good practice from Japan.

Secondly, as a student from Myanmar, from the past to the present, Japan cooperates so much in the developing sectors of my country. Therefore, very fluid job opportunity await after graduating from a Japanese university.

Last, but not least, I was attracted to the conserved unique culture and historical heritage of Japan.

Why did you choose your university?

From my point of view, the environment in Kyoto is the best place to study. Kyoto is less crowded and populated and I can concentrate on my studies because of this pleasant, peaceful and harmonious environment. Moreover, education in Kyoto University is exceptional and I can choose international programs.

Describe your life in Japan?

Because my program is an international program, I can make friends from different countries around the world. That is so interesting! I had to try to get used to some differences (e.g the rice which is different from my country). I learned how to be a good citizen after following the discipline and regulations of Japan for our everyday lives. Of course, I am buckling down, but I still try to enjoy and explore around Japan. One thing is for sure, I have become very punctual and improved my time management!

What are your future plans after MEXT?

I want to share my experiences with the people from my country, especially young people. I want to be a bridge between my county and the different institutions and organizations I have cooperated with during my studies and keep cooperating with my academic supervisors, teachers and friends to improve my country's globalization and development sectors.

What advice can you give to MEXT applicants?

First- learn Japanese

Second - Learn Japanese more

Third - Balance your life: "Study"  "Enjoy"  "Exercises"

And be punctual.
